The President of the Republic of India, Droupadi Murmu, has received a condolence message from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan regarding the death of former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
His Majesty The Vice President, Prime Minister, and ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Similar messages were addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian President by Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court.
However, according to his Associate Spokesperson Stephanie Tremblay, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is grieved by the death of India’s former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who had a “pivotal role” in determining the country’s “economic trajectory.
In a statement released on Friday, the Secretary-General expressed her sadness at the loss of Dr. Manmohan Singh. According to the statement, he “played a pivotal role in India’s recent history, particularly in shaping its economic trajectory.
Singh presided over a time of notable economic expansion and advancement in India while serving as prime minister from 2004 to 2014. “Under his direction, India also improved its cooperation with the UN, actively participating in international projects and alliances,” the statement continued.
